SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA: Release October 1, 2021
For Immediate Release
Wheelco Truck & Trailer provided support and volunteers for the annual Sanford Children’s Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon presented by Jerry’s Auto Sales. The radiothon took place on Thursday, September 30th and Friday, October 1st, through several local radio stations, including KKRC 97.3, KIKN 99.1, KIKN 100.5, KXRB 100.1, ESPN 102.3, B 102.7, and HOT 104.7. The Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon benefits children fighting cancer at the Castle of Care in Sioux Falls through purchasing specialized equipment, pediatric cancer research, expenses not covered by insurance, and special support programs and services.
“Giving back to those in need holds a special place in the hearts of all Wheelco employees,” commented Steve Stich, owner and CEO of Wheelco. “We do our best to generously support charities that make a difference in our local and national communities. With 100% of every dollar staying local to impact local children, Wheelco sees the Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon as an opportunity to make an impactful difference to those local children in need.”
Every year, more than 11,00 children are diagnosed with different forms of cancer. This devastating disease changes their lives dramatically. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in children under the age of 15, second only to accidents. Even with the remarkable advances in treatment, these children are learning about the serious experiences of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and hospital/clinic visits, instead of enjoying the crisp air and chasing butterflies.
As a truck and trailer industry leader for over 60 years, Wheelco’s commitment to high-quality products and exceptional customer service has allowed them to strive in many communities throughout the Midwest. Wheelco has become a prominent part of these communities, investing not only in their employees but also their customers, families, neighbors, and children. They support many organizations, nonprofits, and charities, by contributing to those less fortunate, especially those who involve children.
Please consider joining Wheelco in the fight against cancer by donating to the Sanford Children’s Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon.
Wheelco Provides Special Experience To Lucky Child
Wheelco Truck & Trailer provided a special experience to one lucky child. Gabe Gitzen, of Madison, was given the opportunity to climb and play on a new Wheelco semi-truck and trailer. This Wheelco truck is usually over-the-road delivering parts on one of many free delivery routes through the Midwest, but for today only, the Wheelco truck was sidelined just for Gabe.
